·         Glaciers and ice sheets are the source of the 69 percent of the world’s freshwater. Therefore, if the glaciers and the ice sheets melt down entirely, then, one day, we will have to face a serious water crisis, globally.

·         In 1996, severe tropical cyclone ‘Olivia’ caused a very serious damage to Australia with such a force that broke all the records with wind speed up to 253 miles per hour!!! Shocking, no?

·         Rainbows are hard to find nowadays due to the polluted environment. But, if a person really desires to witness a clear and bright rainbow, then Hawaii is the perfect place for him or her. According to the research, the mountains in Hawaii produce sharp gradients in clouds and rainfall that are the keys to clear and abundant rainbows to be seen.

·         We all know that Greenland is full of ice sheets and therefore the temperature there is tremendously cold. Yet, a recent study finds well-preserved fossilized plants under the 1.4 km of ice that proves that some of these ice sheets must have melted and reformed at least for once, millions of years ago.

·         During the mating season, every animal uses their basic nature to attract their mates. Now, if we talk about Fin whales, they use their deep, hollow sounds to attract their mates which can be heard up to 1000 km away!

·         Due to climate change, an increased amount of UV rays are touching the earth that causes the flowers all over the world to change their colours! That does not mean that a red rose will turn orange, but the UV pigmentation in flowers has increased over time that would lead to the degeneration of their pollens.

·         Nowadays, France is considered as the world’s most visited country. People across the globe are very much attracted to the country’s beauty, culture and food. This European country welcomed approx 86 million people in 2017 whereas Spain occupied the second position in the world’s second popular destination.

·         The world’s quietest room is situated at Microsoft’s headquarters in the state of Washington where when someone enters, he or she will feel a strange sensation of quietness that would blow his or hers mind.

·         In Antarctica, during a research that spanned between 2004 and 2016, the coldest temperature ever recorded was -144 degrees Fahrenheit. If a person would take a few breaths at that temperature, he could get killed.

·         Due to man’s need forests are decreasing in a rapid manner and this fact is not unknowing. Yet, if we take a deeper look at the remaining greens, we could find an interesting fact. According to a recent study, Canada has 9 percent of the world’s forests.

·         After studying different generations with their evolution and adaptation, UNESCO says that the world’s literacy rate is around 86 percent which is quite an improvement. There is also a reduction in gender gaps which is also appreciable.
